Yesterday I spent lunch with the ducks and geese on Mirror Lake. I swear, had I not been more diligent about watching my sandwich, Mr. Goose would have stolen it right out of my hand. Then he proceeded to take a nap not more than 7 feet away from me. If I could get the pictures off my phone, I could show you, but alas I have no clue how to do that. It's baby duck season, and oh my, they are the cutest things in the world! From their tiny little cheeps (especially when Momma Duck swims away from them) to their fuzzy little bodies, I'm in love. I want to live on a property that has a duck pond (or in a "community" that has one).
I thought I had more to write about. In fact, last night I was listing topics in my head for a "rambly" post. But they apparently drifted out of my brain overnight.

Ducks are cuties...I always try to get close to the ones that hang out at the local Cracker Barrell. They never let me. Be careful though, sometimes they bite! I found that out the hard way when I was a little girl.
Baby Ducks!!! Cute feet!!! If only they would stay small, I could get one or two for my fishpond. And didn't it make you think of Catcher in the Rye, Jen????
nina--yes, they sure do bite! Over the summer, when there are fewer students to feed them, I was hanging out with the ducks and they sure were feisty for food! One kept sticking her head in my bookbag looking for more food, while the others were eating out of my hand!
nance--I wish they would stay small! That would be awesome. And sadly, it didn't make me think of Catcher this time, though I have in the past (what happens when it's winter? what happens to the fish and ducks?). I need to read that book again, I'm starting to forget it.
This is great info to know.
