Strange...

I noticed a strange phenomenon at work today--when my hair is down in a braid (such that it reaches the middle of my back), people tend to be unable to resist the urge to give it a tug or swing it. From my boss to the grumpy bartender, many people played with it over the three days I wore it in a braid to work. Silly people! Luckily, I don't mind at all.

However, I do mind that people are advocating my hair being cut. I'm not at the point where I want to cut my hair yet, but almost everyone at work thinks that I should cut it. Or let them cut it. Eep. I just finally started being able to braid it without the shorter layers poking out of the braid funny! I'm pretty sure everyone is just jealous because my hair is so long (and pretty).

Tonight is Sunday Funday with some of the people from work. I'm pretty excited. :-)

Haircut

My hair was trimmed and relayered yesterday. For future reference, I need to not tell the hairstylist to relayer it. It looks good and it's still long, I just don't like how short the layers are. It makes it difficult (or impossible) to braid which is what I like to do when my hair is long. Here are a couple of pictures from my cell phone camera which basically show nothing. You'll just have to take my word for it.

One bit of good news from getting my hair cut--my hair is in great condition for being so long. She said that usually hair as long as mine is not thick. Yay! It makes sense that my hair is healthy since I don't color it, blow dry it, curl it, or straighten it more than once a year. I brush it a couple times a day and I pull it back with hair ties.

Gobs of homework!

I'm taking a break from the gobs of homework/studying that I've been doing for the past several days to update.

Today I got my first "your hair is so long!" compliment. It makes me happy. I'm growing my hair out again like it was in high school because I missed it so. I haven't cut it since August 2005. At that time, I had it cut pretty short (I was going through a phase wanting to "change" my image). See top picture. The bottom picture is my hair as of today . I also haven't dyed it in a long time (I honestly can't remember, but it's surely been over a year). Not that it makes a big difference since I only use temporary dye that washes out. It's weird that when my hair gets long it actually has more body than when it's short. It tries to curl at the ends, which annoys me only because it won't curl all over.

Over spring break I'm going to have my grandma trim the ends a little, to get rid of the splits. I know, most exciting spring break ever, right? I'm also going to the dentist.

There you have it. A post about my hair. I'm fascinating!
