I caught the sick, for sure. It's not BAD, just an irritated throat and urge to cough. Unfortunately, we were REALLY busy at work last night, and I just about died. Coughing (and trying not to cough) ended up giving me a stomachache and a dull headache (that intensified every time I coughed). When I finally got off work and got home, I burst into tears because I just felt SO BAD. This morning I had no voice and was able to call off work, so I'm home to study and rest. Of course, I feel fine-ish now, but I know that working would have kicked my butt again.
So that's that. With several days of no work, I can rest up and be fine by the weekend. Hell, I might be okay by tomorrow!
Of course, my organic chemistry midterm might just make me sicker...

Oh no...
Everyone at work has been sick. And not like, little sneezes sick, but full blown, call off work sick. One girl left midshift on Friday because her ears were so blocked up that she couldn 't hear and it finally made her snap. I'm the only one who hasn't been sick yet, but I worked with at least 3 sickos last weekend, so I'm sure I've been exposed.
Then, my female roommate has a terrible case of influenze...one that had her sent to the ER with chest pains and difficulty breathing. She's gone home-home to recover, so I'm not actively being exposed, but I'm sure the virus is lurking on the door handles and everything, so again, already exposed.
I don't want to get sick. I'm a miserable miserable miserable sick person. I was sick in December and that's more than enough for me this season.
So I'm going to pretend that this little sore throat issue is a figment of my imagination.

Sick...
I got that niggling little feeling yesterday that I was coming down with a cold or some other awful illness. And by golly, I was right on the money. Today I've been feeling blech: one side of my nose is runny, my throat is irritated, and my ear is feeling blocked up (and it's now popping, fabulous). I'm a miserable sick person, and I know it. I think it stems from the fact that I'm not sick very often. In fact, downright infrequently sick. Aside from the week of allergy death that I suffer in the spring, I usually only get sick once a year, if that! So yes, I'm whiny.
Tonight was particularly bad--I worked for the first time since the Sunday before Thanksgiving. My night was compounded by the fact that there were tickets lost and thus my food took FOREVER to come out and I'm still learning the ropes of the ordering system (it's all abbreviations, and for the most part I know them, but tonight the ones I don't know threw me off my game). I think my manager was understanding, but I still feel like a pain due to my need to do everything right! I'm praying that tomorrow is very easy, and it should be: Sunday mornings are a brunch buffet, so I worry about drinks.
Of course, it's finals week too! Oh joy of sickness.
