Ready for Vacation!

Or...almost ready. I haven't actually packed OR thought about what I'm taking. All my clothes are clean though, so that's a start. And I know what types of clothes I need to take (answer: all types).

I am ready for the sightseeing though! We're going to be close to DC, so I decided to look up all the things that we could do there. Washington has a pretty cool website with a list of things to do in DC (and the general area). I really want to do the "Bike and Roll" tour, where you rent a bike and ride around on a guided tour of DC (or at the very least National Mall). I have to convince my mom on that one though. There's also a very cool sounding FREE guided walking tour (DC by Foot) that I am most definitely doing. Of course, there's always the Smithsonian. And a trip to the National Zoo is a must (it's FREE!). At some point we're also going to the Bethesda Crab House, where you order your crabs, they cook 'em up and dump 'em on the table, and you whack 'em open with mallets. I'm very excited about that!

All in all, I'm now very excited for the actual TRIP, and not just getting away from life here for awhile. I don't remember much of the first bunch of times I've been to DC, so I'm hoping to make this one memorable. And I'll take lots of pictures!!

It's been forever since I've been to D.C. I'd love to go back to see things so that I'll actually remember them. Make sure to enjoy it, and do something silly in my name :-p

It's been about 9 years since I was down there last. I know that I went there several times when I was little as well, and I definitely don't remember those times!

OH BOY...PANDAS!!!!!! are you lucky or what!? and don't forget the National Gallery if you want to see some gorgeous art. It houses the only DaVinci in the US, and it also has VERMEERS!! (and it's free, too!!)

I love that there's so much to do for free! I'll be sure to take plenty of panda pictures to share :-)
