The Bad: The boyfriend and I went to Cedar Point today. We got there early enough to ride Maverick without too much of a wait. Rode some other stuff. Ate greasy fries and rode some more rides. I think you can guess the rest of the story. We came home early after I (ahem) got sick on Raptor (my favorite ride!). I'm still a little out of sorts, mostly just a headache. It was pretty disappointing, but life happens that way sometimes.
After dinner, my brother, mom, boyfriend and I went to Circuit City. I've been considering a new computer for a while since my laptop is nearing the point where it could spontaneously combust and I'd rather buy a computer before then so I don't just rush to the nearest store and get one. I got a new HP and it's AWESOME. It has Vista, so I have to get used to that, but so far I really like it. It's going to be very strange to have a desktop after all these years of a laptop! It's more "computer" than I need, but that's okay with me. Here's hoping it lasts till the end of optometry school!
Tomorrow I'm heading back to Columbus to finish moving out of my apartment. And I'm introducing my mom to Indian food. It ought to be fun!!

How was Maverick? As good as Indian food is going to be?
Maverick was pretty cool. Very twisty! We rode in the second row (by chance, because they were just assigning people).
But I think Indian food will be better. Mostly because I won't have to wait in line for only 2 minutes of pleasure.
I think you're the only person I know who went from a LAPTOP to a DESKTOP and not the other way around.
Sorry you got sick at CP. It cannot be from the awesome fries, which would be the sole reason I would even go.
I never really used my laptop as a laptop, so a desktop is just as good for me. It was marginally cheaper (though not by much...) and has more features that I think I could get with a laptop. Especially now that I'm out of the dorms I don't have to worry about having only a small space for a computer.
The fries are awesome! I guess I need to make sure that I wait awhile after I eat the good fries.
I'm a laptop fan, but only because of how often I change places. It was more essential when I was in high school and was switching houses a few times per week, but now it's still nice to have one less big thing to lug when I'm moving somewhere.
It was definitely great when I was coming home from college more often and I needed to do work on my laptop (before I had a USB drive, gasp!) My laptop still works, so when I go on vacation or need to bring it home, I'll have it. I just never used it in the "take it to class" sense. When I did research in the summers, I would take it with me to the lab which was nice!
